Titan makes excellent bags across the line that come closer to ready to throw than anyone else. The Titan Venom, in particular, stands out for its immediate playability, requiring minimal break-in time while delivering consistent performance. Not sure if it’s their sublimation process or what, but I’ve never gotten a Titan bag that needed much more than a quick tumble to get ready.
Titan Venom Cornhole Bags Review_Overview
The Titan Venom Cornhole bags are designed with a mix of speed, size, and fullness. Listed speeds are 3/8, but in actual play, they perform at 5/8. These bags have a large template size (W: 5.875 X L:5.75) and a medium-full fullness. Weighing in at 456g, the bags are filled with disc beads, and although they are not carpet bags, they offer a unique playing experience.
Design and Material Variety
Titan proves that you can buy great bags without spending a fortune. They offer a wide range of materials, templates, fills, and speed options, rapidly becoming one of my favorite bag companies.
I only have 2 problems with them thus far. #1 is the sort of childish animal bag design (read my Titan swarm cornhole bags review of your care for me to go a little more in depth about that). #2 is their speed ratings, which are often inaccurate compared to what is stamped on the bag.
Speed Rating Accuracy
I love that they stamp the speed ratings on the bag. It definitely lets anyone throwing them know what side is fast and which is slow. However, of the three different types of Titan bags I have been able to throw so far, none are even near accurate to what the stamp claims. In the case of the Venoms, I am glad they didn’t. I hate slow bags.
Performance and Playability
These bags perform better than expected. I avoided throwing these because I know I wouldn’t like anything slower than a 4. I only throw that when boards are wicked fast and I have no other choice. There is never going to be a reason to justify me throwing anything slower than a 4. The “3” on the venom automatically took them out as an option for me.
However, when one of my throwing partners found out I was doing a bag breakdown page, he gave me a few sets to broaden my data. I’m glad he did. I love these bags. Guess what other bag it’s like? That’s right. It’s another sure fire variant. However, for me, it’s better. Venoms are a tad smaller overall template (the length is smaller than the width on the venoms and swarms), and the over fullness is thicker. This allows the bags to play slower than a less full sure fire. The sure fire is a 5/9 under normal conditions. These are a slow 5, and a solid 8-8.5. Ironically, the fullness doesn’t affect the hole friendliness. These bags go in the hole.
Another advantage over the sure fire, is the rounded corners. Something about that allows bags to not get hung up and push through a little better. Probably not advantage when trying to block or collect, but certainly comes in handy if you want to play a cut shot or push through other bags.
Final Thoughts
To conclude this Titan Venom Cornhole Bags Review they exceeded my expectations. They took a great bag like the Sure Fire and made it even better. These play better and feel better in hand than a sure fire. If it gets super humid where you play you might want something a little faster later in the night (Nightmare or Devastator would be a faster slow side with the same fast side), but for normal board conditions I think it is a great bag. The price is affordable and the customer service is second to none as well.
I dread giving these back to my partner. I want them in my competition bag at a big tournament. I may need to acquire a set myself fast! Titan… sorry I slept on you guys for so long, but your making me a believer. Great job on the Venoms. In my opinion, you took a great bag in the sure fire and made it better. Lots of tried and failed. You all didn’t.
