Game Changer Cornhole Bags – Speed, Control, & Value Explained

The Game Changer is the Cornhole bag that you want to hate but can’t seem to get away from. There is a reason that after 7 years on the market, they are still a great seller. Used by several top tier pros and local blind draw players alike. Not to mention an extremely durable bag. A great all-around bag at a very reasonable price point!

If you throw in a lot of events, you’ll quickly realize that these are everywhere. I probably see them more than any other kind of bag. I understand why—they’re likely the most hole-friendly bags I’ve ever thrown. It’s a great bag for newer or less-skilled players to improve their scores. You throw it toward the hole and let it slide right in—Cornhole 101.

Playability and Speed

These bags are floppy, and their size is noticeable. They are the biggest bags I’ve thrown in terms of template size, and their softness makes them feel awkward in my grip, especially since I’m used to smaller, firmer bags. However, I can throw 4-baggers on an open board with minimal effort. They do play fast, though. While they’re listed as 7/10 for speed, I find them to play more like 6/9. Despite the speed, they are exceptionally hole-friendly and perform well for tricky blocks because of their size. Their mushiness helps absorb push attempts from opponents.

Downsides: Patch Problems

The patch on the slow side is what holds me back from fully embracing Game Changer Cornhole Bags. While this patch adds a distinct characteristic to the bag, it can sometimes influence how the bag reacts when landing, especially if you’re not throwing with a perfectly flat release. Additionally, over time, the patch may start to show wear, with some stitching loosening and threads appearing. That said, many players still find the benefits of the bag’s overall performance to outweigh these minor durability concerns.

Versatility and Final Thoughts

I mostly avoid the slow side and stick to the fast side when throwing these, effectively turning them into a one-sided bag for me. The fast side puts up big numbers, but when I need to play blocks or deal with a fast board, I have to switch to something else. I throw them at every blind draw because it’s almost impossible not to run into someone who uses them exclusively. However, if I’m playing singles or doubles with my chosen partner, Game Changers will likely to be my first choice.

Overall, For beginners or players looking to improve their score with minimal effort, the Game Changers are a great option. You’ll find yourself putting bags in the hole and improving your scoring numbers. Just the patch design may not suit every player’s style, but it doesn’t take away from the bag’s strong performance on the board.
